About The Position

JGM is seeking experienced Machine Operators to operate production equipment in our Coatesville steel fabrication shop. While experience with press brakes, industrial saws, fabrication, machine shops, or metal stamping is highly preferred, candidates from manufacturing, packaging, automotive, sheet metal, plastics, or other high-volume production environments are encouraged to apply, even without specific steel fabrication experience. The role requires comfort working in a non-climate-controlled shop environment, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of related work experience required
  • Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints, work orders, or production specs, or willing to learn.
  • Basic math and measurement skills (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic; comfortable in a fast-paced shop floor setting.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take directions from shop leads and supervisors.
  • OSHA 10 certification required or willingness to obtain during company-paid onboarding.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of related work experience preferred
  • Press brake, industrial saw, fabrication, or other production/line facility experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with equipment such as CNC machines, punches, shears, or comparable industrial machinery also considered; willingness to cross-train on new equipment types.
  • Experienced machine operators without steel fabrication experience but with production-line machine operation background (manufacturing, packaging, automotive, sheet metal, plastics, etc.) are also encouraged to apply.
  • Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus but not required — training provided.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor production machinery (CNC equipment, press brakes, saws, punches, shears, plasma/laser cutters, or similar) to fabricate steel components to spec.
  • Inspect parts against drawings and tolerances throughout the run, catching defects early and adjusting the machine as needed.
  • Load, unload, and stage raw steel and finished components safely, using overhead cranes, forklifts, or hand-moving equipment as required.
  • Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance on assigned equipment, and flag mechanical issues before they cause downtime.
  • Follow all JGM and OSHA safety protocols, wear required PPE and work safely in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
  • Keep up with production schedules and takt time on the line, communicating with leads or supervisors when a job is running behind.
