CNC Machine Operator- Metals|2nd Shift|4-Day Workweek
About The Position
Spectrum Industries, Inc. is looking for a CNC Machine Operator to join our Metals team. This position operates CNC and other production equipment to manufacture sheet metal and metal tubing products, parts, and components. If you have prior CNC operating, setup, tooling, troubleshooting, or program-adjustment experience, we want to recognize the skills you already bring to the table- even if your previous job title was different, such as Machinist, CNC Operator, Setup Operator, or Machine Operator. Your experience may qualify you for placement above the starting hourly rate. We evaluate your experience and skills to determine where you fit within our pay range. Second-shift employees receive a 7.5% shift differential in addition to their base wage.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months to one year of related work experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Nice To Haves
- Prior CNC operating experience
- Prior CNC setup experience
- Prior CNC tooling experience
- Prior CNC troubleshooting experience
- Prior CNC program-adjustment experience
Responsibilities
- Performs minor setup and adjustment functions on the machine
- Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Measures dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
- Adjusts machine feed and speed, changes cutting tools, or adjusts machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if the machines malfunction
- Stops machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement
- Manually lifts work pieces to machines, or with the assistance of a lifting mechanism to load and unload machinery
- Verifies conformance of finished work pieces to specifications
- Records and submits accurate work time and job functions on daily time documents and routing sheets
- Other duties as assigned
