About The Position

The Working Machining Set up Technician -A is responsible for meeting or exceeding set goals for Machine Utilization and First Pass yield for the scheduled machines they are running. This role involves performing thorough, detail-oriented setups that meet or exceed set goals and reports to the Lead Person. The technician must maintain the productivity and efficiency of their assigned machines, monitor hourly productivity, and make adjustments as needed. They are also responsible for completing 6s activities, inputting data into the Amper Utilization tracking system, maintaining good housekeeping and safety standards, and adhering to all company policies. A positive contribution to the team is expected to help reach scheduled goals. Production responsibilities include performing quality checks, completing documentation, providing accurate hourly data, and completing setups for scheduled machines, including those on 4 & above Axis machines. Quality responsibilities involve performing scheduled quality checks, maintaining data entry for parts, performing capability studies after setup, and assisting in resolving quality issues. Continuous improvement involves looking for ways to make improvements, cross-training in new areas, recommending process improvements for cost reductions and production enhancements, and participating in setup reduction activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / or Equivalent required.
  • 3+ years' experience in Machining.
  • Good work history.
  • Must be able to be on your feet for the entire shift.
  • Background & Drug Screening required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical diploma in Machining would be a plus.
  • Quality assurance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed set goals for Machine Utilization and First Pass yield.
  • Perform thorough, detail-oriented setups.
  • Maintain the productivity and efficiency of assigned machines.
  • Monitor hourly productivity and make adjustments as needed.
  • Complete all scheduled 6s activities and sign off on each task.
  • Input hourly productivity on the day by hour board.
  • Input required data into the Amper Utilization tracking system.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and Safety standards.
  • Adhere to all Company policies.
  • Be a positive contributor to the Team.
  • Perform all quality checks and complete all needed documentation for parts assigned.
  • Provide accurate hourly data on the DBHB and communicate all obstacles.
  • Complete setups for scheduled machines based on the production schedule.
  • Complete setups on 4 & above Axis machines.
  • Perform all scheduled quality checks and complete needed documentation for parts assigned.
  • Maintain proper data entry on conformant and non-conformant parts.
  • Perform capability studies after completed setup to ensure process is stable.
  • Assist in resolving quality issues within a setup.
  • Participate in looking for ways to make improvements that will help the Team reach the set goals.
  • Cross train in new areas.
  • Recommend process improvement measures for cost reductions along with ways to improve production.
  • Participate in setup reduction activities.
