About The Position

We’re hiring an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer for a high-end precision manufacturer producing specialty, tight-tolerance components for aerospace and defense programs. A major part of this position is NPI and new job development. You won't spend your day maintaining the same production programs. You'll regularly be handed new, challenging parts and have the freedom to determine how they should actually be machined. This role offers a heavy focus on NPI and new programs, complex aerospace & defense components, and high-mix, specialty machining instead of repetitive production. It provides the opportunity to own the entire machining process, tackle challenging tight-tolerance and GD&T-heavy work, and collaborate directly with engineering, quality, and experienced machinists.

Requirements

  • CNC lathe/turning programming experience
  • Mastercam programming experience
  • Experience with NPI or new job development
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, workholding, speeds, and feeds
  • Strong blueprint and GD&T knowledge
  • Experience with tight-tolerance precision machining
  • Ability to support programs through setup, prove-out, and first article
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision machining environments

Nice To Haves

  • Develop workholding and setup strategies.
  • Program OD/ID turning, boring, threading, grooving, drilling, and other complex features.
  • Support setups and hands-on program prove-outs.
  • Work through first articles and dimensional issues.
  • Troubleshoot tooling, workholding, and machining problems.
  • Optimize programs for cycle time, tool life, quality, and process stability.
