Requirements

  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Setup mills and lathes Experience
  • basic programming experience
  • Must have basic knowledge of fixture use.
  • Experience establishing speeds and feed rates
  • 5 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • College or technical training or equivalent in experience.
  • The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods and stand to perform work.
  • The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to fifty (50) pounds or more with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Safety glasses, shop coat/apron, proper shoes.
  • Occasional exposure to shop element such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
  • All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. Responsibilities

  • Sets up, Operates and inspects CNC Lathes (Star Swiss)
  • Inspects and measures work to assure conformance to prescribed tolerances and standards.
  • Use shop math including trigonometry as required.
  • Ability to trouble shoot, adjust/ modify programs will also be required.
  • Running up to three machines at a time (5+axes)
  • Perform work assigned by department lead or supervisor.
  • Studies blueprints, drawings, sketches or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished part, sequence of operations and set up requirements.
  • Perform the work described on bill of operations for your department and/ or section.
  • Performs multiple set ups and operations to produce parts on a production basis.
  • Perform all work shown on the drawing and described in the notes that is applicable to your section and/or department. If the work order is unclear, refer to the detailed manufacturing instructions for visual purposes.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, materials and accessories on machining equipment.
  • Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining operations.
  • All work performed must meet the blueprint specifications.
  • Verifies finished parts for conformance to specifications.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above
  • Understand and live by Mason’s ethics and business conduct policies
