About The Position

This position is for a CNC Lathe Machinist on the 3rd shift, working Friday through Sunday from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Employees on this shift receive a 10% differential and work 36 hours while being paid for 40. A sign-on bonus of $4000 is offered, with the first half paid after 30 days of employment and the second half paid after 60 days.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic hand tools, including their uses and maintenance.
Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
Ability to control the operations of machining equipment and systems.
Basic mathematics knowledge, particularly Trigonometry.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2 years of experience in relevant field preferred.
5S and Lean Manufacturing training.
Basic Blueprint Reading.
Documentation and Modern’s Production System.
Inspection Techniques for Machinists.
SPC Charts and Tools.
Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Adjusting Boring heads.

Responsibilities

Loads, Unloads, Starts, and Stops Machines.
Sets the feeds and speeds of machines during the machining process.
Watches gauges, dials, and other key indicators to make sure machines are working properly and work-pieces meet quality standards.
Monitors machines during operation in order to detect dull cutting tools and excessive vibration.
Measures dimensions of finished work-pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
Calculates and sets machine movements according to drawing specs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
