About The Position

This position will be a hands-on leadership position in which an individual is expected to provide assistance to the Production Leader and perform as a highly skilled operator. Responsible for working with defined workstation team, coordinating work activities, maintaining compliance with procedures, performing quality control check, and acting as technical lead for first level problems. Responsible for the scheduling and nesting of the laser system as well as first level programming and maintenance tasks. Responsible for leading daily operations of the Laser and Press Brake (1st Shift). Responsible for technical direction and support for all shifts for all the Laser and Break Department to include interactions with Engineering and equipment vendors on Nesting, programming, maintenance and troubleshooting. Ability to lead, guide, and mentor new hires and training in this area. Operation of light, medium, and heavy equipment including fork truck, front end loader and skid loader. Interpret moderately complex drawings, route sheets, specifications, and instructions to determine methods and techniques to be applied. Set up and operate Trumpf Fiber Laser and Trumpf Press Brake. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers. Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers. Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties and report to the leader describing in accurate detail to ensure proper corrective actions. Complete necessary documentation to ensure quality and production requirements. Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues; understand and apply engineering change request process. Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Maintain equipment and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of laser and press brake experience minimum
  • 1+ years of experience with part nesting software
  • Experience/knowledge in the basic of Laser and Brake operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex blueprints, specifications, and machined part prints
  • Strong experience with part fabrication.
  • Ability to be versatile and flexible in running open machines.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal/communication skills required
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to obtain and operate mobile equipment needed to perform essential functions

Nice To Haves

  • 3yr preferred laser and press brake experience
  • 2yrs preferred experience with part nesting software
  • Knowledge of Trumpf Equipment and Software a plus
