About The Position

We are seeking team members who desire a career in manufacturing, enjoy setting up and operating equipment, and will ensure great quality product goes to our customers. While beginning training to understand and operate CNC laser equipment, the employee will assist with setting up tools and equipment. The employee must form/cut material as specified by work order and specific blueprints and diagrams and complete the necessary quality inspections of product. More experienced operators may perform independent setup following orientation and initial training. The role involves using computers and manufacturing software, following safety guidelines, and practicing general housekeeping. The earning potential starts at $25/hr for trainees, with opportunities for pay-for-skill promotions and time-based pay adjustments, progressing through apprentice, qualified, certified, and master levels.

Requirements

  • One to three months of related experience and/or training; CNC machines, machine set-up, metalworking, welding/fabrication.
  • Computer Skills are required - knowledge of Manufacturing software and ability to learn new programs.
  • Able to lift 75 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Able to work shift assigned and overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Consistent experience in manufacturing setting in set-up and machine operation or metal fabrication.
  • Setting up/running CNC equipment.
  • Performing part quality inspections.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Experience with making adjustments to CNC programs.
  • Strong work history including good longevity in previous roles.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup of machine, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Use beginner’s knowledge of M&G code and makes minor adjustments to meet production goals.
  • Use appropriate measuring tools to assure required quality standards are met.
  • Follow all verbal and written instructions pertaining to the operation of the CNC laser machine and related equipment.
  • Produce quality parts, which include the placement of raw material, assisting in the removal of parts and packing, and cutting parts by hand (where applicable).
  • Successfully complete all training, including RFC Academy (JIT, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma, SPC), Basic Quality, Math, Blueprint Reading, and CNC trainee-level courses as required.
  • Use a working knowledge of computers including manufacturing software/business systems in order to create Work-In-Process or Finished Goods/Inventory Tickets.
  • Address rework/defective parts, complete end of shift paperwork, review route sheets, and understand tool storage/staging operation.
  • Follow safety guidelines, handle parts and practice general housekeeping.
