About The Position

UTRS Advanced Manufacturing (UTRS AM) is seeking a CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist Operator to join their team. UTRS AM provides a wide range of engineering, management, and digital services to the public and private sectors and is looking for an individual to support their mission of delivering creative, high-quality, technology-based services on time and within budget. This role involves setting up and operating a large Horizontal Boring Mill in a clean, air-conditioned, well-equipped, modern shop specializing in short-run manufacturing of custom machinery and machine components. The position is located in Robbinsville, NJ.

Requirements

5 years of experience required
Must have good mechanical skills and experience
High standard of quality and efficiency
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Solid knowledge of shop mathematics
Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly
Must be able to work in a physical capacity, lifting and moving heavy object
Must be a US Citizen
High School diploma required

Nice To Haves

College degree not required but beneficial
Past or present military personnel are encouraged to apply
Experience interpreting blueprints, beginner knowledge of GD&T
Experience in advanced work holding, multi-axis coordination, and high-efficiency part production.
Knowledge of cutting tools, insert grades

Responsibilities

Run CNC Horizontal mill to perform boring, milling, drilling, facing and threading operations
Program, setup, and run parts on 5 axis CNC horizontal milling machine independently.
Use of overhead cranes to safely move heavy parts
Inspect parts coming off CNC machines for visual defects and workmanship
Deburr and clean components before & after machining operations
Maintain traceability on material alloys and raw materials being machined for each job
Maintain CNC machines, including basic maintenance
