About The Position

As a CNC Grinder, you will play a critical role in manufacturing high-precision carbide cutting tools using advanced CNC tool grinding machines. You will be responsible for programming, setup, operation, and inspection to ensure consistent, premium-quality output. This position is ideal for a hands-on machinist who values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of 5-Axis CNC setup and operation experience.
Strong understanding of carbide cutting tools and grinding processes.

Nice To Haves

5-Axis CNC setup and operation experience preferably on ANCA- or NUM-controlled platforms.
Machining or CNC-related certification preferred.
Knowledge of cutters, inserts, feeds, and speeds is a strong advantage.
CNC programming experience is a plus, but not required.
Manufacturing experience preferred; motivated learners are encouraged to apply.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to precision.
Ability to follow established processes while continuously improving output.
Solid problem-solving skills within a production environment.
Clear, professional communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
Ability to work independently while contributing to shop-wide success.

Responsibilities

Set up CNC grinding machines, including tooling, offsets, and adjustments.
Program and operate CNC grinders to meet exact blueprint and customer specifications.
Read and interpret detailed blueprints, prints, and technical documentation.
Inspect parts using precision measurement and quality control tools.
Monitor production quality throughout the process—catching issues before they become problems.
Troubleshoot quality concerns and communicate effectively with programmers and leadership.
Perform daily machine inspections to ensure safe, efficient operation.
Maintain organized, clean, and safe workstations.
Support continuous improvement and take ownership of your work.
Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support production goals.
