About The Position

A leading supplier of high-precision CNC machine tools supporting the metal cutting industry and advanced manufacturing environments is seeking a Field Service Engineer / CNC Service Technician to support customers across West Michigan. This is a field-based role supporting advanced CNC machine tools and 5-axis machining centers, focusing on installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and machine uptime optimization. The territory covers West Michigan.

Requirements

• Degree in an engineering discipline or machine tool technology is advantageous; however, we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant hands-on experience.
• Prior experience as a Field Service Engineer working with machine tools, 5-axis machining centers or similar CNC equipment, is preferred.
• Strong understanding of different CNC control systems such as Fanuc or Siemens.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across Western Michigan to support customers.

Responsibilities

• Travel throughout Western Michigan to set up, service, and optimize a variety of CNC machine tools, including both 3-axis and 5-axis machining centers.
• Manage on-site service activities by performing installations, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure maximum machine uptime.
• Investigate technical issues using detailed analysis, implement corrective actions, and communicate solutions and recommendations to the team.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to enhance machine performance, reduce recurring problems, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
