About The Position

The CNC 5-Axis Operator follows manufacturing methods to perform normal job tasks in a safe manner under the direction of the supervisor, group leader, or experienced associates. This role involves general clean-up to keep the work area clean and organized, setting up, adjusting, and operating all types of CNC equipment in the facility. The operator is responsible for verifying CNC program integrity before operating equipment, making changes to CNC programs, and operating the equipment for new CNC programs to validate the first part and provide feedback to the CNC programmer. They will measure and install tools into equipment, perform self-inspection for parts resulting from the machining operation, and work from blueprints, sketches, and process control documents. This position is responsible for the quality of parts produced, documentation, and identification related to production, and must work within close tolerances. The operator must work in a safe manner, follow Company’s Compliance requirements, and maintain and improve the quality management system. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school or as deemed sufficient by management
  • good computer skills
  • ability to operate all CNC equipment in the plant
  • basic CNC programming knowledge
  • ability to use measurement instruments
  • ability to read drawings and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • ability to read and interpret routine instructions
  • good communication skills
  • good product and internal processes knowledge
  • At least 5 years work experience in the area, or as deemed sufficient by management

Responsibilities

  • Follow manufacturing methods to perform normal job tasks in a safe manner under the direction of the supervisor, group leader or experienced associates in the area.

  • Set up, adjust and operate all type of CNC equipment in the facility.
  • Verify CNC program integrity before operating the equipment.
  • Perform changes to the CNC programs.
