About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing essential care and support to patients in a part-time capacity. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment in accordance with the center's standards and protocols.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
Strong understanding of patient care procedures and protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Ability to perform basic nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and maintaining patient hygiene.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage time effectively.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care with a strong sense of empathy.
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a mental health setting is preferred but may be waived given demonstrated desire for professional development through continuing education participation.
Desirable to have experience working with psychiatric or co-occurring consumers of all ages.

Responsibilities

Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Support the nursing staff in implementing care plans and reporting any changes in patient conditions.
Ensure patient safety and comfort by maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Respond promptly to patient calls and requests, providing compassionate and attentive care.
Assist with the transportation of patients within the facility as needed.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge related to patient care.
Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations governing patient care and facility operations.
