About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing essential care and support to patients in a part-time capacity. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment in accordance with the center's standards and protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
  • Strong understanding of patient care procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to perform basic nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, and maintaining patient hygiene.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage time effectively.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care with a strong sense of empathy.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a mental health setting is preferred but may be waived given demonstrated desire for professional development through continuing education participation.
  • Desirable to have experience working with psychiatric or co-occurring consumers of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Support the nursing staff in implementing care plans and reporting any changes in patient conditions.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort by maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and requests, providing compassionate and attentive care.
  • Assist with the transportation of patients within the facility as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge related to patient care.
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations governing patient care and facility operations.
