About The Position

CNA Part time with some PRN positions available. Under the direction of the nursing staff, cares for residents at Stone Pear Pavilion while keeping them safe and comfortable during their activities of daily living by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • Certificate upon completion of an approved nurse's aide certification curriculum.
  • Complete annual state mandated training requirements (Regular In-services as well as any external training).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals and resident charting notes and directives.
  • Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and perform resident charting.
  • Ability to complete all assigned paperwork and charting.
  • Ability to speak effectively with residents, family members, or employees in group or one-on-one situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals when determining a resident's weight loss or gain.
  • Ability to estimate volume and percentages when documenting resident dietary and nourishment intake or output data.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions as given by the supervisor.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations dealing with the care of the residents, such as changing the order of duties needed to be carried out for a resident who sleeps a little later of assessing the best way to handle an agitated resident on a given day and still take care of their needs.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant certification.
  • A Certified Nurse Assistant is required to work 8 hours and take 12 hours of training annually.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant skills specific to geriatric residents are needed.
  • May need additional skills with special-need geriatric residents such as those with dementia, Alzheimer's or those requiring skilled health care.
  • Ability to use resident lift equipment.
  • A Tuberculosis testing are required annually.
  • The ability to get along with others and engage them in activities
  • The ability to concentrate for extended periods of time
  • The ability to remain calm in emergency situations
  • The ability to shift focus from one task to another

Responsibilities

  • Teamwork with the following and all other duties and responsibilities assigned.
  • Provides care and services to residents as defined by individualized care plans. Care and services include, but are not limited to: ADL assistance, mobility assistance, positioning assistance and feeding assistance.
  • Performs random rounds on each resident every two hours, starting upon arrival and finishing just prior to the end of the shift.
  • Takes and records temperature, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
  • Participates in resident activity program.
  • Documents care provided to residents using approved documentation method.
  • Reports any change in resident condition to the charge nurse immediately.
  • Assists with stocking supplies in clean utility rooms.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions required for the position
