About The Position

Compass Park is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide quality care to facility residents. This is a full-time or part-time position with evening and night shifts available. The role involves assisting residents with their care needs, documenting care delivery, coordinating with other staff, and reporting any changes in resident condition to supervisors. The CNA will also cooperate with other departments, serve as a dependable employee, follow directions from the Charge Nurse, adhere to safety precautions, and assist in orienting new staff.

  • Supports, cooperates with and implements procedures and programs for: Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
  • Confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee and operations data.
  • Quality Assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
  • Supports and participates in common teamwork Cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
  • Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
  • Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
  • Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
  • Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress code including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A valid Indiana State Department of Health Nurse Aide Certification required.
  • Moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 6 months prior nursing experience in long term care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality care to the facility residents.
  • Complete assignments and assist other staff with their assignments when able.
  • Document care delivery in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Coordinate work with other nursing assistants in order to ensure all care needs are met.
  • Report pertinent changes in residents to the immediate supervisor.
  • Work in cooperation and respectfully with other departments within the facility.
  • Serve as a dependable employee by working on scheduled days and showing up to work on time.
  • Follow direction and complete tasks assigned by the Charge Nurse.
  • Adhere to safety precautions per each resident’s plan of care.
  • Assist in the process of orientation of new staff members.
