About The Position

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at EMH, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients within our healthcare facility. Your primary focus will be to support nursing staff by assisting patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. You will be responsible for monitoring patients' health status and reporting any changes to the nursing team promptly. Requirements

  • Current and valid CNA certification recognized by the state.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of patient care and safety procedures.
  • Ability to pass a background check and health screening.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patient care techniques, vital sign monitoring, and effective communication are essential for delivering daily hands-on support to patients and collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enable the CNA to build trust and rapport with patients, ensuring their comfort and emotional well-being.
  • Attention to detail and observational skills are critical for accurately reporting changes in patient conditions and maintaining safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working as a CNA in a healthcare setting.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Additional training in specialized care areas such as geriatrics or rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems enhance efficiency in documentation and information sharing.
  • Certifications in CPR and specialized care training allow the CNA to respond confidently to emergencies and provide tailored support to diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Provide mobility support by helping patients move safely within the facility and assisting with exercises as directed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control protocols and assisting with room preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and compassionate care.
  • Report any changes in patients’ conditions or concerns to the nursing staff promptly.
  • Support nursing staff with basic clinical tasks and documentation as required.
