About The Position

The CNA provides personal care to residents according to their written service plans at Wingate Residences on the East Side. The role supports residents’ hygiene, safety, mobility, dining, and participation in activities while promoting person-centered care and excellent customer service. The schedule is 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., part time, including every other weekend. Starting pay is $19 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current CNA or Home Health Aide certification in the state of work.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in an elder care setting.

Responsibilities

Review the logbook and assignment sheets at the start of each shift for updates.
Help residents remain neat, clean, and properly clothed, and assist with bathroom and hygiene needs.
Tidy resident apartments and proactively assess potential safety concerns.
Assess potential safety concerns in common areas and report them to the appropriate parties when needed.
Transport residents to and from activities and dining.
Provide SAMM assistance within the allotted time frame, if applicable, and complete accurate, timely documentation.
Give a verbal report to the following shift during shift change.
Support mealtimes by making morning coffee, serving breakfast as residents are ready, serving lunch and dinner, setting tables, encouraging residents to participate, and assisting with plate and utensil orientation.
Clean up after meals, load and empty the dishwasher, clean and disinfect tables and counters, and launder napkins and dish towels.
Provide one-on-one support to engage residents in activities or offer a quiet space to help calm residents when needed.
Facilitate and assist with activity programming.
Apply an excellent customer service approach in all aspects of the job.
Work with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
