McCormick Post Acute is a skilled nursing and rehab community seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their family-like environment. Requirements

CNA Certification from an accredited program
Active South Carolina CNA Certification
Current CPR Certification
High School Diploma or Equivalent
A positive attitude and a passion for resident care

Must possess, as a minimum, an 10th grade education
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

Provide each assigned resident with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as directed by supervisors.
Identify residents before administering treatments or serving meals using wristbands or photo card files.
Use only authorized abbreviations when recording information.
Report all changes in resident's condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse promptly.
Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner.
Report all observed accidents and incidents on the shift they occur.
Maintain resident confidentiality and report any suspected or known violations.
Report any known or suspected unauthorized attempts to access the facility’s information system.
Perform only trained nursing care procedures.
Ensure resident rooms are ready for new admissions (bed made, name tags, admission kit available).
Greet residents and escort them to their rooms.
Introduce residents to roommates, other residents, and personnel.
Ensure residents are comfortable.
Inventory and mark resident’s personal possessions as instructed.
Store resident’s clothing.
Assist residents with packing personal possessions during transfers or discharges.
Transport residents to new rooms or receiving areas.
Assist with loading/unloading residents to/from vehicles.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment.
Meet with shift’s nursing personnel to identify and correct problem areas and improve services.
Report all resident complaints and grievances.
Participate in and receive nursing reports.
Follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.
Make beds and put extra covers on beds as requested.
Measure and record resident's temperature, pulse, and respirations (TPRs) as instructed.
Weigh and measure residents as instructed.
Ensure residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
Answer resident calls promptly.
Check residents routinely to ensure personal care needs are met.
Assist residents with identifying food arrangements (e.g., informing visually impaired residents about food on their tray).
Record resident's food/fluid intake and report changes in eating habits to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Keep resident water pitchers clean, filled with fresh water, and within reach.
Perform after-meal care (e.g., remove trays, clean resident’s hands, face, clothing).
Perform all assigned tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures and as instructed by supervisors.
Follow work assignments and schedules.
Cooperate with inter-departmental and other facility personnel.
Notify the facility when late or absent.
Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals.
Assist residents with daily functions (dental/mouth care, bath, combing hair, dressing/undressing).
Keep residents dry by changing gowns, clothing, and linens when wet or soiled.
Assist residents in preparing for medical tests (lab work, x-ray, therapy, dental).
Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents.
Perform restorative and rehabilitative procedures as instructed.
Assist in preparing residents for physical examinations.
Check residents routinely to ensure personal care needs are met according to their wishes.
Observe and report pressure areas and skin breakdowns to prevent decubitus ulcers.
Report injuries of unknown source, including skin tears.
Observe disoriented and comatose residents and record/report data as instructed.
Perform special treatments as instructed.
Immediately notify the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any resident leaving or missing from the facility.
Use only equipment trained to use.
Report defective equipment to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information, and report unauthorized disclosures.
Report all allegations of resident abuse and/or misappropriation of resident property.
Honor resident's refusal of treatment requests and report them to a supervisor.
