About The Position

This is a full-time evening position for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Geneva, NY. The role involves providing direct care to residents, ensuring their needs are met in accordance with care plans and facility policies. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), maintaining a safe and clean environment, meeting nutritional needs, supporting rehabilitative efforts, and promptly reporting any changes in resident status or concerns to the nursing staff. The position requires adherence to safety protocols and documentation per established procedures. Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is anticipated.

Requirements

NYS Nursing Assistant Certification
BLS (AHA or RQI specifically)
One (1) Year of previous LTC experience
Must be licensed for 1 year
High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

Willing, ready, and able to float between departments and locations as long as you have been oriented to that unit population.

Responsibilities

Meet resident's ADL's needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment; including hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, skin care, etc. Documentation completed per protocol.
Maintain resident's environment and safety as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures; including answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, restraint use under the direction of Nursing, maintaining cleanliness of unit, behavior and fall prevention, appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment, etc. Documentation completed per protocol.
Meet resident's nutritional needs as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures, including meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, nourishments, etc. Resident's preferences and choices shall be honored. Documentation completed per protocol.
Meet resident's rehabilitative (restorative and maintenance) needs as outlined in plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures, including range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment and use of assistive devices. Documentation completed per protocol.
Report resident's rights, refusals, and concerns to Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures. Identify and report changes in resident physical, emotional and psychosocial status to Charge Nurse promptly.
Perform tasks involving potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
