About The Position

Provide direct care to residents, including physical support for daily living activities, monitoring health and behavior, responding to resident needs, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. This role involves significant documentation, communication with nursing staff, and adherence to facility policies and federal/state regulations. The position requires individuals who can work independently, communicate effectively, and provide compassionate care to residents.

• Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility.
• Communicate effectively in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, prospects, residents, and families.
• Ability to concentrate on moderate details with frequent interruptions.
• Visual acuity.
• Hearing alertness.
• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds.
• Moving, lifting or transferring of residents may involve lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry patients.
• Ability to use abdominal and lower back muscles over time without fatigue.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, twist, sit and reach.
• Fine motor skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical support to assist residents in performing daily living activities such as lifting, transfers, assisting with bed mobility, bathing, dressing, toileting, standing, walking, exercising, serving and assisting with meals, and taking vital signs.
• Observe and document the health, behavior, physical and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the nurse.
• Respond promptly and courteously to resident call signals, signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine residents' needs.
• Promote personal safety and the safety of residents by maintaining a clean and safe environment, observing infection control practices, following facility guidelines, and reporting unsafe situations to the nurse.
• Communicate with nurses regarding resident conditions, changes, and concerns.
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
• Provide companionship, comfort, and support to residents.
• Meet federal and state in-service requirements.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
