About The Position

Marshall Healthcare Facility is a 64-bed skilled and long-term care facility located in Machias, Maine. We are seeking CNAs for a unique "Weekend Warrior" scheduling option. This program requires a commitment of twenty-six (26) consecutive weekends (six months). During this period, employees will be scheduled for a minimum of three (3) twelve-hour shifts or two (2) sixteen-hour shifts per weekend. The "weekend" is defined as starting Friday at 6:30 am and ending Monday evening at 7:00 pm. As a Weekend Warrior, you will receive a premium differential of $3.00 per hour for hours worked within the defined weekend time, in addition to any other weekend differentials. Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and on the Maine CNA Registry.
  • Able to work scheduled shifts, committing to being there for your team and Residents.
  • Must be able interact our computer-based Electronic Medical Record system.

Responsibilities

  • Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Assistance with showering/bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs.
  • Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping patient information confidential.
  • Serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures; federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, participating in professional organizations, and maintaining licensure.
  • Enhances nursing department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
