CNA / Unit Tech - FMC Postpartum (.9 FTE, Nights)
About The Position
EvergreenHealth is an integrated two-hospital system and public hospital district headquartered in the Puget Sound area east of Seattle. The Unit Tech (Certified Nursing Assistant), under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs direct and indirect patient care, treatment, transportation, and clerical tasks in the FMC Postpartum unit. This position is 0.9 FTE and works nights. EvergreenHealth offers a comprehensive benefits package to support employees and their families. The position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between EvergreenHealth and SEIU Healthcare 1199NW; union membership is optional.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant Certified (NA-C) in Washington State.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.
- Ability to apply knowledge of basic patient care techniques and procedures to care for the assigned age group.

Responsibilities
- Observe, document, and report changes in patient activity or symptoms, including vital signs, respiration, discomfort, intake and output, height, weight, and bleeding.
- Assist with or prepare patients for transport, including transferring patients between beds, gurneys, and wheelchairs.
- Transport patients, patient belongings and valuables, blood products, supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment, and specimens to and from various locations.
- Acknowledge patient inquiries and respond to or refer them appropriately.
- Answer patient call lights, determine the nature of the problem, and respond within scope or obtain appropriate resources.
- Assist registered nurses and other healthcare providers with wound care and patient procedures as directed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
