The Unit Secretary plays a vital role in supporting patient care by coordinating communication and ensuring the efficient processing of ancillary department orders. This position manages information received through telephone calls, call bells, and direct interactions, directing inquiries to the appropriate team members. Working collaboratively with the Charge Nurse, Supervisor, and Nurse Manager, the Unit Secretary assists with staffing adjustments for current and upcoming shifts. When applicable, this role also performs Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) duties as requested. Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
