About The Position
Harborview Medical Center's Centralized Transport Unit is seeking a CNA / Transporter. This position involves transporting patients and supplies to all areas of the hospital, completing transports efficiently, and understanding the importance of patient flow. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Registered Nurse to understand patient care needs during transport, utilize technology for requests and escalations, remain knowledgeable about safe transportation practices, and employ effective communication skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Nursing Assistant-Certified (CNA) with the State of Washington
- A minimum of 1-year of CNA experience
Responsibilities
- Transporting patients and supplies to all areas of the hospital
- Completes transports in an efficient manner, understanding the importance and impact of patient flow throughout the hospital
- In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, understands patient care needs and utilizes them during transport if necessary (i.e., oxygen)
- Utilize technology to respond to transport requests and escalate transport concerns
- Remains knowledgeable about safe transportation practices
- Utilizes effective and clear communication skills
Benefits
- Evening shift differential: $1.50/hour
- Night shift differential: $2.25/hour
- Weekend shift differential: $1.50/hour
