About The Position
Following a major expansion, Holy Cross Hospital Jordan Valley's capacity tripled, now housing 171 beds to serve our growing community. Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Certified Nurse Assistant from State of Employment
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of Nursing Assistant Program
- Six (6) months previous CNA experience
- Previous telemetry experience
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect nursing care under RN direction while continuously monitoring patients on telemetry, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Interpret and record ECG rhythms.
- Report pertinent changes to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure accurate reports and error reconciliation.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Perform direct patient care tasks.
- Responsible for observation and documentation of patient’s cardiac rhythm: every shift, when an arrhythmia occurs, and on each new patient as they are placed on telemetry.
- Recognizes and notifies RN immediately when life threatening arrhythmia occurs.
- Promptly responds to all monitor alarms according to department/hospital policy.
- Documents all communication to caregivers.
- Ensures all patients on telemetry are connected to central monitor and alarms are appropriately set.
- Accurately documents vital signs, input/output, nutritional intake, personal hygiene, weights, and other patient care performed and reports findings promptly to Registered Nurse.
- Maintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
- Promptly answers call lights and responds to patient needs.
- Reports patient status changes and needs to Registered Nurse accurately and in a timely manner.
