About The Position

As a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), you will be a cornerstone of patient care, directly contributing to comfort, safety, and recovery by providing essential support under RN direction. Every day, you will deliver compassionate basic care, assist with patient transport, and actively contribute to the patient's plan of care as a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, upholding the highest standards of conduct and patient well-being. Requirements

  • Six (6) months recent long term care facility experience as CNA
  • High School GED or High School Graduate
  • Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant program.
  • California Certified Nursing Assistant: CA CNA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - BLS, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Performs and educates family members, as indicated, the restorative care functions that may include, but are not necessarily be limited to: Ambulation assistance, Eating assistance, ADL assistance, ROM (AROM & PROM), Bowel & Bladder Training, Splint / Brace / Prosthesis placement / care.
  • Performs the above duties as well as lifting, moving, positioning and transporting of patients while using proper techniques and/or equipment.
  • Demonstrates basic skills including, but not necessarily limited to: Patient hygiene (bathing, grooming, oral and perineal care, back rubs); Documentation of baseline data (vital signs, intake and output), Knowledge of mobility and precautions for orthopedic patients; Skin care for immobilized patients; Infection control & prevention.
  • Reports pertinent information to appropriate person(s) / positions, including information needed for IDT / Care Planning conferences.
  • Participates in continuing education in areas applicable to position and the patient population.
  • Demonstrates understanding of resident's rights; maintains an environment free of abuse, and reports suspected resident abuse to supervisor.
  • Provides for resident and staff safety through application of safety guidelines, including infection control and prevention guidelines / policies.
