The Staffing Scheduler for Nursing Services will be responsible for the design and implementation of staffing patterns. This role assists in recordkeeping and documentation of attendance and tardiness, reviews complaints and grievances pertinent to scheduling and staffing, and makes necessary oral and/or written reports to the Staff Coordinator. The scheduler establishes staffing patterns and schedules for nurses and nursing assistants, works with human resources/recruiting to advise them of staffing needs, and maintains the scheduling system for bi-weekly payroll. They also assist employees in accurate completion of forms pertinent to scheduling and staffing, including timecards, time off requests, and leave of absence paperwork. Additionally, the scheduler assists in securing staff for absences and leaves, adjusting schedules as required, and maintains records on vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, holidays, excused and unexcused absences, recommending appropriate action. They document employee calls regarding staffing and scheduling functions and act as a back-up for the Staff Coordinator role. Additional duties may be assigned.
