About The Position

Bluegrass Senior Living is adding CNA/SRNAs to our EXCEPTIONAL Team at our Somerset, KY Night shift available! Our CNAs provide individualized, quality resident care under the direction of nursing personnel. This position requires the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from residents, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and the ability to speak, understand and read the English language to the extent necessary to safely and properly care for residents. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm; good verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to organize, document, and implement detailed programs.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a SRNA, or training and competency evaluation program, including passing of the certification exam.
  • Meets state and federal requirements.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and read the English language to the extent necessary to safely and properly care for residents.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, document, and implement detailed programs.
  • Standing, sitting, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 75 pounds or more, bending, climbing, twisting upper body, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone.
  • Exposure to medical equipment and persons with risk of illness.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One or more years related experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily direct care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, elimination, and transferring/ambulating.
  • Provides comfort to residents by creating a positive home-like environment, building trust, offering emotional support, working with families, and communicating effectively.
  • Monitors and reports changes in resident condition or other relevant matters to the Charge Nurse.
  • Assists nurses with treatments, medical procedures, and emergencies.
  • Records accurate and legible information about resident care and condition.
  • Responds to call lights and emergency alarms promptly.
  • Maintains employee and resident safety by following infection control practices, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and reporting safety problems immediately.
  • Performs procedures correctly and reports injuries to the Charge Nurse.
  • Participates in fire and disaster drills and carries out assigned duties in emergencies.
  • Assists with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans.
  • Performs administrative functions such as prioritizing tasks, participating in staff meetings, and reviewing policies and procedures.
  • Attends continuing education and in-service programs and applies learned information.
  • Performs quality assessment and assurance functions as directed.
  • Assists with survey processes as directed.
