About The Position

McFarland Clinic is accepting applications for a CNA Roomer in its Family Medicine East office in Ames. The role supports patient care through rooming and patient assistance, room turnover and cleaning, stocking supplies, and receptionist duties as needed. Candidates should be service-oriented, work well as part of a team, and provide extraordinary care to patients. The schedule is Monday through Friday: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Wednesday from 8:00 AM to noon. Previous CNA experience and medical terminology are preferred. Employees must complete a medical terminology class within one year of employment. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check are conditions of hire.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or HiSET.
Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant training program with verification of certification.
Completion of a 75-hour basic Certified Nursing Assistant Program or an Advanced Nurse Aide Program with certificate.
BLS certification, or obtain it within 90 days of hire, and maintain it throughout employment.
Mandatory Reporter training, or complete it within 90 days of hire, and maintain it throughout employment.
Complete a medical terminology class within one year of employment.
Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

Assist with patient rooming, including measuring and documenting height, weight, and vital signs as directed.
Turn over and clean rooms in a timely manner.
Assist with stocking and monitoring supplies, restock room supplies, and help reorder medical supplies.
Perform receptionist duties as required.
Assist patients to and from the restroom.
Assist patients and staff with wheelchair transfers.
Assist the nurse.
Perform other duties as assigned.
