About The Position

Albany Care, a Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facility (SMHRF), in Evanston, IL, has Immediate Openings for RSAs(Rehabilitation Services Associates) / CNAs. This is an Excellent Opportunity to gain Valuable, Hands on Experience in the Field of Mental Health. All of the Residents at Albany Care are Ambulatory, which is Very Different from working as a CNA in Skilled Nursing Facilities or Hospitals! These are Union Positions. Rehabilitation Services Associates (RSAs) work in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team, offering recovery and rehabilitation support and services to those who live in the facility. Albany Care is accredited by the Joint Commission and licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDHP). We are dedicated to the treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation of individuals affected by chronic psychiatric illnesses. Located in a residential housing setting in beautiful Evanston, Illinois, we treat a variety of conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, as well as those who are dually diagnosed with a mental illness and substance use disorders.

Requirements

Must be a current CNA
21 years of age or older
CNA Certification required
CNA experience required
High School diploma or GED
Basic Computer Skills
Service mindset with compassion, tolerance, and understanding of adults with psychiatric disorders

Nice To Haves

Experience in a mental health facility strongly preferred
Experience as a CNA, Mental Health Program Aide, Mental Health Technician, Behavioral Health Technician, or DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Responsibilities

Collaborate with consumer and treatment team in facilitating therapeutic treatment plans
Implement therapeutic care plans and activities in a compassionate and caring manner
Recognize, note, and inform treatment team when a consumer is not at their baseline of symptoms and behaviors
Assist medical treatment team as assigned
Help check in all newly admitted consumers and readmissions, as well as assist in the transfer of consumers to different rooms
Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA
