About The Position
This role provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit. The CNA is responsible for the direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting, and feeding. This role also involves documenting care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines. The facility provides care for long-term care residents and post-acute rehab patients, with specialized units focusing on general rehab, neuro rehab, traumatic brain injuries, and cancer. The center offers various programs such as music therapy, expressive arts, and a garden room. The facility itself was designed with 'home' in mind, featuring spacious courtyards, a new dining room, an on-site dialysis den, an art room, private and semi-private rooms with modern amenities, and new technology.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of State of Michigan approved CNA Training Course
- CRT-Nursing Assistant - Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems within 90 days
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality, direct patient care.
- Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.
- Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
- Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
- Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
