About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring CNA's at The Residence at Glastonbury. This is a rewarding role working with seniors in an Assisted Living and Memory Care setting. The Resident Care Associate shall provide for the needs of the elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support in a manner that supports the dignity, independence, choice, and individuality of each resident. The duties of Resident Care Associate include delivery of services as written on the approved service plan for each Resident.

Requirements

  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation and provide copies of the documentation to the Resident Care Director or designee.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and appropriate notifications to the nurse.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences, providing assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status, and report/document any noticed changes to the RN or designee.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist Residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist Residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to Residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in the community's regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs as required.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, and residents' refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
