This is a part-time position for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Perianesthesia department, focusing on Preoperative, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), and discharge duties. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with direct patient care, including daily hygiene, feeding, ambulation, and monitoring vital signs. The CNA will also be responsible for accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), participating in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, and ensuring patient safety by keeping call lights within reach and performing purposeful rounding. The position requires performing various patient positioning and transporting duties, assisting with nutritional needs, maintaining skin integrity, and managing patient supplies. Additionally, the CNA will collect specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and may assist with tasks such as IV removal, post-mortem care, and bladder scans under RN supervision. The role also involves coordinating tests and treatments, maintaining knowledge of hospital systems and equipment, processing patient charges, and facilitating communication within the healthcare team. A strong emphasis is placed on establishing positive customer relations and contributing to a harmonious work environment, with a requirement to demonstrate age-specific knowledge and skills in patient care.
