About The Position
Sanford Health is hiring a CNA/PCT for its Float Pool. The role assists nursing personnel with patient-care activities and related services that support patients’ personal needs and comfort. The Nursing Assistant serves as a caregiver during the scheduled work period and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week on 8-hour day shifts.
Requirements
- Good human-relations and communication skills.
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions provided by a licensed nurse.
- Ability to acquire basic knowledge of patient-care principles, medical terminology, and equipment within the assigned service area.
Nice To Haves
- Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist with clinical duties delegated according to the role, responsibilities, training, competency, and needs of the ambulatory setting.
- Assist with taking patients’ vital signs.
- Maintain medical-supply stock for registered nurses or physicians.
- Complete assigned patient-care duties and administer delegated tasks and treatments.
- Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
- Assist with basic health-care needs, including rooming patients and supporting daily living, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Collect non-invasive biological specimens as needed.
- Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient care.
- Prepare patient treatment areas and medical equipment for use; clean equipment and dispose of biomedical waste according to standards and policy.
- Clean patient areas or treatment rooms.
