About The Position

Harborview Medical Center's 4MB Planned Surgical Unit is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT). This is an outstanding opportunity to join an innovative in-patient unit at the forefront of virtual care, integrating the latest technologies. The unit has 20 beds with telemetry monitoring capabilities and specializes in planned spine surgery patients and other planned surgical cases. Staff on this unit should be flexible and adaptable to new technologies and will be assigned to the brand new unit (4MB).

Requirements

  • Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)
  • High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care in an acute care health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
  • Maintain a safe environment of care
  • Patient transportation
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Perform non-invasive lab procedures
  • Transport equipment and supplies
  • Assist with treatments
  • Perform various clerical tasks
  • Take vital signs
