About The Position

UW Medicine UW Medical Center-Montlake - Resource Team / Float Pool has outstanding opportunities for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) positions. This is a regular position with a 90% FTE (36 hours per week) and a variable shift with no set schedule. The role involves direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting patients with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, patient transportation, preparing patients for surgery, performing non-invasive lab procedures, transporting equipment and supplies, assisting with treatments, performing clerical tasks, and taking vital signs.

Requirements

  • Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)
  • High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card by start date

Responsibilities

  • Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
  • Maintain a safe environment of care
  • Patient transportation
  • Prepare patients for surgery
  • Perform non-invasive lab procedures
  • Transport equipment and supplies
  • Assist with treatments
  • Perform various clerical tasks
  • Take vital signs
