About The Position

Northern Nevada Medical Center is seeking a dynamic CNA/Patient Care Tech to provide safe, competent nursing assistant care for patients on the Med/Tele Unit. This is a Full Time position with a night shift schedule. The role involves providing professional support to the healthcare team, with a foundation in Patient Centered Care concepts. The position also requires demonstrating Service Excellence standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited C.N.A program
  • Current Nevada C.N.A. license.
  • Current BLS certificate.

Nice To Haves

  • One year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting.

Responsibilities

  • Completes Bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Ensures patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
  • Meets with Supervising RN at the beginning of each shift to receive delegation of tasks.
  • Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care.
  • Follows facility policies and procedures to promote patient safety (i.e. safe environment, equipment safety practices, radiation safety, fire prevention, etc.).
  • Adheres to fall precautions by performing/assisting patients with toileting/ADL care and never leaving the patient alone. If assistance is needed, CNA is able to ask/call or help while remaining with the patient.
