About The Position

As a CNA Patient Care Assistant, you will be a central figure on our patient care team, providing direct, compassionate, hands-on support to patients and assisting nurses and other healthcare professionals. You will play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and a supportive healing environment. Every day, you will expertly perform basic patient care duties like taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, monitoring and documenting patient intake/output, and collecting specimens. You will also maintain patient rooms, transport patients and equipment, and promptly report changes in patient condition to nursing staff, adhering strictly to safety protocols and infection control. To be successful in this role, you will combine a strong, empathetic approach, meticulous attention to detail in clinical tasks, and excellent communication skills to support interdisciplinary teamwork. You will demonstrate a proactive commitment to patient well-being, a supportive demeanor, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced clinical environment, delivering compassionate care. Demonstrates adherence to the standards of conduct requirements. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse within the scope of practice of a nursing assistant. Vital signs, Ambulation, ADLs, Routine treatment procedures as defined by hospital policy/procedure/routines. Reports all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient's condition to the licensed nurse. Demonstrates clinical/technical expertise in general nursing skills. Understands age-specific variations in the patient population. Documents patient care measures according to patient care standards, policies, and procedures. Manages age-specific needs through appropriate adaptation of interventions (as directed by the licensed nurse). Assists in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer, transport, and discharge procedures. Provides for the safe care of patient valuables during these processes. Utilizes proper body mechanics when performing job duties. Appropriately utilizes equipment and supplies (including following established policies, procedures, and protocols governing the transport, handling, and storage of intravenous fluids) in the care of the patient. This position is represented by CHEU and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

  • High School / GED required
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CA. CNA Lic.) required
  • Basic Life Support Cert (AHA BLS Cert) required
