This position provides resident-centered personal care including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining vital signs, psychosocial support and other personal cares. The role involves assisting residents in transferring, repositioning and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment, and providing range of motion and passive exercise. Responsibilities also include completing tasks related to dining and food preparation, assisting residents with meals and snacks, providing water and supplements as appropriate, and ensuring a positive dining experience. The position requires providing the correct medication to the right person at the right time in the right dose and by the right route, ensuring all changes in medication are responded to in a timely manner. Accurate documentation of outcomes related to resident cares, medications/treatments, behaviors, activities, and dietary intake is essential. The role also includes providing housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational, following consistent hand washing and Personal Protective Equipment use. Assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encouraging resident participation are also key aspects of the job. A desire to work with residents in sub-acute care and long-term care is a must.
