The Nursing Assistant serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. The NA provides patient-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This role involves a variety of patient care tasks, documentation, and maintaining a safe and clean environment. Additionally, reception duties are included, such as answering phones, providing directions, assisting physicians with charts, transcribing orders, assembling charts, and contacting physician offices. The position requires knowledge of department supplies and equipment, and the ability to maintain and restock patient work rooms. Strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to handle stress are essential.
