This role is in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit South and involves providing basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff. Duties include taking vitals, assisting with bathing, dressing, and moving patients, changing linens, and reporting any changes in patient condition. Requirements

  • Must have 3 months of Nurse Assistant, EMT or Surg Tech experience within the past three years OR completed an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel program within the past three years (for Nurse Assistant I)
  • Must have passed the Fundamentals of Nursing course (usually this course is in the first semester of nursing school) (for Nurse Assistant II)
  • MO CNA License OR must have MO CNA Appendix AND MO CNA license must be obtained within 120 days of hire (for CNA)
  • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibits valuable time management skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: High School Diploma or Equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.
  • Perform duties such as take vitals, bathe, dress, move patients, change linens and other duties as assigned.
  • Obtains information on patient condition as requested by the nursing staff, and reports any changes in patient condition.
