About The Position

Visiting Angels West Springfield is seeking compassionate and reliable CNAs or HHAs to provide in-home care for a lovely elder in Chicopee. The client is currently in a rehab facility after suffering a stroke, resulting in paralysis on the right side, and is eager to return home. While currently bedbound, she is alert, cooperative, and communicative, requiring assistance with feeding and personal care. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a strong, supportive relationship with the client and her husband, who will assist with Hoyer lift transfers. Requirements

• Hoyer lift experience necessary.
• 1-3 years of Professional Eldercare Experience.
• At least 2 Professional References (not friends).
• Fluent English.
• Reliable Transportation.
• Willing to submit to criminal background checks.
• Willing to accept 1 shift every other weekend.
• Current US driver’s license.
• 1 year of caregiving experience.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Strong ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Compassionate Character.
• Patience and willingness to learn new skills.

Nice To Haves

• CNA, HHA, CHHA, or PCA certification is welcome but not required.
• Ability to read ADLs and personal care instructions.
• Certifications are welcome (CNA, HHA, etc.) but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide feeding assistance to the client.
• Assist with personal care, including Hoyer lift transfers.
• Communicate verbally with clients and families.
• Write shift notes to update the family, office, and other caregivers.
• Maintain punctuality and reliability.
