The CNA Nursing Assistant will assist the RN with the daily care of patients on the General Medicine Care Unit. This includes tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. The role involves measuring and documenting vital signs, intake and output, and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The CNA will also perform purposeful rounding, assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, and collect specimens. Additionally, the position requires completing errands, maintaining stock, cleaning equipment, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties. The CNA will also be involved in tasks related to patient nutrition and skin integrity, and may be required to perform tasks such as removing IVs, providing post mortem care, and bladder scans under the direction of the RN. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic procedures, is crucial. The role requires the ability to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, understanding growth and development principles.
