This is a part-time position requiring 24 hours per week, with a schedule that includes day shifts from 6:30 am to 7 pm, and weekend and holiday rotations based on unit needs. The pay range for this role is $20.80 - $31.20. The position involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. It also includes measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes, and ensuring patient safety by keeping call lights within reach and answering them promptly. The role also entails performing purposeful rounding, communicating patient observations to the RN, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties. Additionally, the position involves tasks related to patient nutritional needs and skin integrity, collecting specimens, performing point-of-care testing, and potentially removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans under RN direction. The role also requires adherence to infection prevention policies, coordinating tests and treatments, maintaining knowledge of diagnostic and treatment departments, and utilizing EHR and other computer systems for ordering supplies and processing charges. Facilitating communication through multi-line telephones, paging systems, and hospital information systems, as well as monitoring and troubleshooting office equipment, are also key responsibilities. Compiling chart forms, obtaining medical records for transfers, and verifying patient demographic information are part of the administrative duties. The position emphasizes establishing positive customer relations, contributing to a harmonious work environment, and demonstrating knowledge of age-specific care needs.
