The CNA Nursing Assistant - Float Pool position is a full-time role within the AMC Sheboygan County - Nursing Float Pool department. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders, and ambulation. Responsibilities also include measuring and documenting vital signs and patient data, accurately documenting in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), performing purposeful rounding, and assisting with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. The position requires prompt attention to patient call lights, collection of specimens, and maintaining stock for the nursing area. It also involves patient positioning and transporting duties, assisting with nutritional needs and skin integrity, and ensuring special patient supplies are provided. Depending on site/unit requirements and under the direction of an RN, duties may extend to removing IVs, providing post mortem care, and performing bladder scans. The role emphasizes practicing within infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and knowledge of aseptic procedures, and requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care.
