About The Position

Provide CNA care to residents in the Moore Place Neurobehavioral Rehabilitation Program, a 20-bed unit within DeMay Living Center on the third floor of Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. The unit serves residents with Alzheimer’s disease and/or dementia who may exhibit unpredictable verbal or physical aggression and whose needs cannot be met on a regular dementia floor. The program provides a secured, structured environment focused on behavioral stabilization, medication management, successful daily routines, and discharge planning. Residents are expected to return to their previous setting once stabilized; the program is not intended for long-term care. Each resident’s case may be unique and complex, and care focuses on individual behavioral management strategies and helping residents achieve their maximum health and functional ability. The role includes supporting residents with daily care, mobility, hygiene, transfers, monitoring and recording measurements, and reporting changes in condition. Staff may float as needed by the facility. Orientation is held during the day in the employee’s first week. Fingerprint forms must be submitted within 48 hours of signing.
