About The Position

Certified Nursing Assistant – Medical Surgical Unit at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. This posting represents a .6 FTE, day shift opening (7am-7:30pm, 2, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable. Requirements

  • Coursework/Training - Completion of Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) recognized Acute Care CNA 2 course or Grandfathered to CNA 2 per OSBN requirements.
  • Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year - General hospital experience.
  • 1 year - Experience as a CNA 2.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a high functioning team
  • Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights
  • Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests
  • Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, including annual CNA conference
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Performs basic nursing functions and other duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
