About The Position

CNA – Neurovascular, Medical Surgical Unit at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. This posting represents a .6 FTE, NIGHT shift opening (7pm-7:30am, varied days, 2, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends and holidays. We are an accredited comprehensive stroke center and epilepsy unit. This specialized unit cares for post-operative neurosurgery and EMU patients. Patients on this unit may have received a hyperacute intervention such as endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) or thrombolysis. Stroke patients generally stay in the hospital for approximately five to seven days. During their stay, the interprofessional stroke team works collaboratively to provide patient and family-centered and evidence-based stroke care.

Requirements

  • Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

  • 1 year of experience as a CNA.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a high functioning team
  • Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights
  • Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests
  • Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development, including annual CNA conference
  • Other duties as assigned
  • The Certified Nursing Assistant assists a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN.
