About The Position

Under general direction from Nursing Manager, and/or RN/LVN assists, professional nursing personnel in providing resident care in assigned area. Maintains, demonstrates and is assessed on the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for physical, psychosocial and cultural needs appropriate to the age of the residents served on his/her assigned unit.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility/Sub-Acute unit required.
• Possession of an appropriate, valid California certificate for nursing assistant.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
• Ability to learn the terminology of parts and supplies associated with area of assignment.
• Ability to learn quickly the specific operations of a medical treatment unit.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
• Ability to work effectively under stress and in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional nursing personnel in providing resident care in assigned area.
• Keeps simple records.
• Manages emergency or crisis situations; requires judgement/action which could result in undesirable resident outcomes.
