About The Position
Under general direction from Nursing Manager, and/or RN/LVN assists, professional nursing personnel in providing resident care in assigned area.
Requirements
- Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
- Previous experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility/Sub-Acute unit required.
- Possession of an appropriate, valid California certificate for nursing assistant.
- BLS certification through AHA.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
- Ability to learn the terminology of parts and supplies associated with area of assignment.
- Ability to learn quickly the specific operations of a medical treatment unit.
- Ability to establish and effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
- Ability to work effectively under stress and in emergency situations.
- Ability to keep simple records.
- Ability to manage emergency or crisis situations; requires judgement/action which could result in undesirable resident outcomes.
- Maintains, demonstrates and is assessed on the knowledge and skills necessary to provide for physical, psychosocial and cultural needs appropriate to the age of the residents served on his/her assigned unit.
